Quickstart
To get started with Userowl, you need to create an account. Start for free
When you first sign up for Userowl, you will be guided through the onboarding process. This process will help you to create your first project and invite your team members.
If you've already created a project during the onboarding process, you can skip this step and continue with inviting your team.
Projects in Userowl are a way to organize your work. You can create different projects for each application you develop or you can split your environments with different projects.
To create a project:
- Navigate to Projects page.
- Click on Create new project.
- Fill in the information related to your projects. These information is just to distinguish projects.
- Press Create and this will take you to the projects detail page.
If you've already invited all of your team members during the onboarding process, you can skip this step and continue with installation.
Managing feedback in Userowl becomes more efficient when collaborating with your team, clients, or stakeholders. Invite them to your organization, so they can participate in the feedback loop.
- Navigate to Users > Team Members page by clicking 'View settings' under your profile on the bottom-left and selecting 'Organization Settings'.
- Click on Invite user
- Fill in work email, role and authorized projects and click Invite to send an email invite.
- You will see them on 'Members' page with Invitation Pending tag.
- Once invited user opens the email and accepts invite by clicking the button in the email they will be able to access Userowl after they complete their onboarding form.
To collect feedback in your application or website you need to complete a one-time simple step to install Userowl.
- Navigate to Widget > Install page.
- Select the appropriate way to install Userowl depending on your tech stack.
- Copy the code snippet and paste into your application or website code.
- Next time you visit your application or website, you will see the Userowl widget.
You can customize look and feel and contents of the Userowl Widget according your brand and use-case.
- Navigate to Widget > Style to start configuring look and feel of your widget.
- You can see a preview of the changes you made on the Widget Preview area.
- Press Save on the top toolbar to save your changes.
- Continue customizing the fields of your widget with Widget > Welcome Screen and Widget > Feedback Form.
- Once you are happy with the changes and you want to see them live on your application, press Publish under the dropdown menu of 'Save' button.
Userowl integrates with the tools you already use for product management, customer support, and communication.
You can integrate Userowl with tools like Jira, Azure Devops and Github Issues to manage feedback in the tools where your whole team is. Slack and Discord integrations help your team to get instant notifications to stay alerted.
To start integrating with your tools:
- Navigate to Project Settings > Integrations page.
- Press Activate on the integration you want to use.
- A popup with the instructions specific to the integration will appear. Press Continue to be taken to authentication page for that integration.
- Review the permissions requested and authorize Userowl to integrate with your tool.
- You will be redirected back to Integrations page where you will configure final steps for your integration.
You can customize your feedback workflow for each project. This will allow you to align your feedback workflow with how your team operates.
To edit your project's workflow:
- Navigate to Project Settings > Workflow page.
- Edit the current workflow by dragging and reordering statuses.
- You can also add new statuses or edit name and color of existing ones according to your team's need.
